The major challenges of secondary education in India are as follows
  1. Student-teacher ratio is not balanced There are many schools where there is no teacher in proportion to students. For this reason children's education is affected. Children do not get quality education and in case of studies, children from other areas are left behind.
  2. Lack of School wise Teachers There are many government schools in India where there are no teachers of different subjects, due to this, children's education is also affected.
  3. The miserable situation of the library. There is not much attention given to the development of habit of reading in children at the secondary level in the abundance of schools of various states. An example of this is seen as neglect of the library. There are no books in the school either. If there are books, they are locked in the lock.
  4. Pressure of examinations. You are all familiar with the story of fear of board examinations in India. The tendency to pass in any manner during the examinations promotes duplication. There is a lot of pressure on children to perform well during the board examinations. This pressure creates an irritant rather than refining his natural interest in education.
  5. Dependency on passbook At the secondary level, many students get habit of passbook. Because tests are the only test of ability to answer questions in the exams. In this case, the dependence of children on the passbook increases. Due to this, they do not develop classroom-based reading and writing skills. They become accustomed to the habit of reaching the answers without thinking about any question and going through a process of inquiry. The passbook industry's crores business is a live example of this. Things like one-week series are also affecting the quality of secondary education.
  6. Bad condition of laboratory In many schools, the study of science classes has started. But there is a lack of laboratory. Due to this children do not know the practical aspects of science. The number of Practical numbers is above the children. For this reason he could not openly ask questions during the period. Due to the pressure of teachers in many schools, they are bound to read in coaching classes too.
  7. Increasing reliance on coaching centers During the 10th and 12th, students begin to sit in various competitive examinations. Its pressure is above the guardians. They want children to get good grades in the exam so that they can get admission in a good college. Have a good preparation so that they can perform well in the entrance examinations. For this reason, the dependence of the students on the coaching center has increased rapidly. With this problem, schools present in rural and urban areas are battling.
  8. Inappropriate course. The secondary level curriculum gives more importance to knowledge than knowledge. This does not make the right trend towards children's education. They are reading different topics without understanding that they will use it. There is also a need to make courses more practical.
  9. Defective examination system Two years of study were evaluated in the same year. But the curriculum of the 10th and 12th classes was subsequently separated.
